Ladyhouse

LadyHouse aka Karlyn Neel began her experience in the deep basements of San Francisco in the exploding house scene in 1992. Attending a party in the basement of Big Heart City, which has recently been demolished, listening to the pulsing rhythms while dancing in the dark, Karlyn was immediately addicted. She began collecting what has now become more than a decade1s thick collection of vinyl and hasn1t stopped since. She learned her craft and her history from an amazing association with LA1s Radio 92.3 (the Beat) House DJ and SF Release Resident DJ, Terrence Toy, who dubbed her LadyHouse even before she ever attempted a mix.

Ladies and Germs, LadyHouse makes her solo debut at Kelly's Mission Rock. Then, pure blur at electrified spots throughout the San Francisco Bay Area: 1015 Folsom, 111 Minna, Mezzanine and the infamous San Francisco parties; Martel & Nabiel1s Release, Mystery Girl Production Fashion Shows & Events and the official San Francisco MySpace Party. Super special nights at the Sony Metreon for MEANDRA: The San Francisco Design Museum and CNET TV Studios sets followed.

Miss House has been jet setting the globe with guest spots in New York City, Los Angeles, Peru, Canada, Spain, and the first ever Love Parade in the US held in San Francisco and special performances at the Winter Music Conference in Miami.

In the Fall of 2003, Miss House, was chosen as a finalist for the Women Who Rock the Numark Turntables in New York City to represent the West Coast. Her energetic style and sharp skills secured her a spot as a finalist in the competition taking home fabulous Numark goodies and was featured in the Jan/Feb 2004 edition of Women Who Rock. The following summer, Miss House was featured in URB Magazine with fellow house heads Justin Martin & DJ Heather.

After coming home from the Women Who Rock contest, seeking camaraderie and getting constant requests for all female dj lineups, LadyHouse put together a group of women who were both incredibly talented and stylish behind the decks. In November of 2003, LadyHouse founded Femme DJs in San Francisco, an all female dj collective of talented artists that are creating a buzz among the underground dance scene.

In December 2003, LadyHouse was selected to audition for MTV's new game show Your Face or Mine by the American Idol producers. Unfortunately, the producers changed their format and decided not to use a dj as their host. Soon thereafter, LadyHouse was selected for the brand new reality show The Club on Spike TV, featuring her in a dj contest at the Meta club ICE.

New horizons loom in her future. We Are House, her first track featuring her vocal stylings, that was released on Plastic City Records in 2005, has been off the charts and licensed to many compilations. Soon followed by three additional releases on Plastic City and new releases slated to appear regularly in 2006. Her countless hours spent in the studio and on the decks have cultivated her own label, Deep Frisco, female owned and operated (first release October 2006) . Her love for electronic music keeps her hands on the decks and ours in the air. Ladyhouse1s feminine touch and energetic style insure that this is only the beginning of a fierce career, and a wonderful contribution to the story that is House.
